For some people, simply talking through their difficult/confused/painful thoughts and feelings, does not bring about the desired change they seek.
For those people I have found that offering a combination of therapy - intertwining Counselling and Reiki (within a block of treatment) can enable a person to move to a place of internal calmness. From this place of inner contentment, buried toughts and feelings can often be released, without reliving them.
The Reiki experience varies from person to person. Deep relaxation is common and occasionally people drift into a deeper subconscious state.
As the Reiki energy flows, tension, anxiety, fear or other negative thoughts and feelings can often be released, often bypassing our thinking self (the part which often tells us what we can or can't/should or shouldn't do).
At the end of the Reiki treatment it is not uncommon for a person to feel a sense of deep contentment and positive well-being.
Through this therapeutic relationship you will have an opportunity to gain a clearer sense of where you are, and what is happening for you.
From this place of clarity, other possibilities may emerge, thus enabling inner change to begin to happen.
This change can be in the form of acceptance, release or purely a change of ones attitude. Often change is not difficult, it is the belief that we cannot change which binds us.
In Aromatherapy these extracts, (called "essential oils"), contain many healing and beneficial properties, which may be stimulating or relaxing, depending on which oils are used.
These oils are applied to the body by way of a gentle massage. due to the gentle rhythmic motion of this therapy, it can be very helpful in slowing an active mind, which in turn can enable a person to move to a place of relaxation and peace.
